Short ps.i've read that Capture one Pro is much faster than lightroom for processing images on the same machine.that is something you'd need test for yourself. If you're gonna batch process that will change your results.

My macbook pro is a summer 2015 edition and i found it handling the files without problem. More to see image quality than how my own macbook pro handles the bigger file sizes. This way you can see for yourself how your macbook pro handles them. I'm looking for some guidance on a MAC that can process D850 RAW Files. Upgrade the memory of your 2018 Mac mini up to 64GB. I do have ON-1 as a plugin but haven't tried their raw converter.Д«ut others have different views and if you don't like the subscription model then of course Lightroom is not the way to go.I may be moving from Canon to Nikon and purchasing a D850. I used to find that Capture one had slightly more selective control but the latest release of Lightroom has reversed that and also amazingly taken a performance lead. For most other things I prefer the subtler start point of ACR/Lightroom. This may help I prefer the starting point of capture one for landscapes with a lot of green. Most raw converters can produce the same output it's just what tweaks they apply from the outset which is a matter of preference, and how easy it is to get there.

So, do you think that Capture One (is this the same as ON-1?) produces NEF files better, easier, or both than Lightroom? I don't rely on Capture One for long term storage but I find it an extremely efficient culling tool, especially in the latest default state. You would still need Photoshop or similar for more challenging editing and a way to manage your images instead of lightroom.
